Résumé writing standards and norms—along with the technologies (like bots) that scan and parse them—have evolved, too. Today, your document is often reviewed by machines before it ever reaches a human reader.

Your leadership style, expertise, and compensation have also likely advanced since the last time you updated your résumé—not to mention the broader expectations of you and your potential audiences.

While keywords and basic concepts matter to a machine, nuance matters once a human is involved. Language, tone, structure, and formatting all play a role—whether you’re responding to a formal posting or simply honoring a connection who says, “Sure, send me your résumé.”

I help professionals bring their personal-professional brand (external goals) into balance with their career goals (internal drive). This package is the most direct of my three offerings—and the ideal starting point if you’re ready to take the next step.

This isn’t a two-hour intake followed by a few tidy drafts. It’s career clarity work—anchored by a résumé and professional brand that not only reflect the leader you’ve become, but perform in the moments that matter.

My résumé writing roots go back more than 25 years, including time in retained executive search with national firms in New York and San Francisco. I rebranded The Résumé Studio as The Redick Group in 2022 to reflect the expanded scope of my work—including helping long-time clients launch boutique firms, consultancies, and advisory practices built on human expertise.

That background informs every part of this process—from how we frame your leadership to how your materials land with recruiters, boards, and hiring executives. Many clients describe the work as “the most unexpected form of interview preparation.”

What begins as a résumé often becomes something more: a new way of articulating who you are, where you're going, and why it matters.

Our sessions happen live via Zoom. We share screens, co-create in real time, and make every decision together—so you walk away with a résumé and professional brand you can stand behind. You’ll be ready when the time comes to defend it.

The content reflects your choices, but they’re informed, shaped, and sharpened through thoughtful questioning and expert perspective. I’ll ask, listen, and challenge assumptions about what really matters. Often, the details you gloss over are the very proof points that bring your story to life. And the things you assumed were obvious may not be. Especially to a recruiter or decision-maker who’s never met you.

This process sharpens how you see your story—and how others will see it, too.

Phase 1: Career Research, Analysis & Discovery (streamlined for this package)

Since you’re preparing your résumé for a single career direction, you’ll arrive with one ideal job description—or combine several into a single reference profile by prompting AI to create a “job description mashup.” If needed, I’ll help guide that process so the prep reflects the role you’re targeting.

That document becomes our roadmap. It helps us align your goals and experience with market expectations as we shape your leadership message.

Unlike my other programs, Phase 1 in the Résumé Readiness Package is abbreviated. There’s no formal “Research, Analysis & Discovery” step—because you’re already clear on direction. The real work begins in Phase 2.

Phase 2: Résumé Writing, Career Strategy & Interview Prep

This is where the storytelling begins. With your target role in mind, we’ll map your proof points to future goals—or surface new ones that may not be immediately obvious.

Each work session is live, strategic, and screen-shared. We co-write in real time, shaping your résumé line by line while sharpening how you think and talk about your experience. Many clients find these sessions double as interview preparation.

We’ll complete your résumé across up to seven sessions:

• Résumé Session 1 (60 minutes)

If the engagement extends beyond the initial retainer, additional work is scheduled at a mutually agreeable time and billed hourly at the prevailing project rate. To minimize surprises, all work is conducted in real time, with shared decision-making via screen share.

Goal: A full Library of Master Documents

It’s not all fun and games—but it’s not all grind, either. The goal is for our deep dives, challenging Q&As, bursts of clarity, and (yes) occasionally fun Zoom-based sessions to produce something enduring: a forward-looking Library of Master Documents you can use for this next step—and the one after that.
